I hold a Ph.D in astronomy and have extensive teaching and tutoring experience, including at Mesa Community College, Arizona State University, and the University of Arizona. I also have experience in GED preparation studies. My teaching reviews have all been excellent, and I have helped several students pass their GEDs.

I specialize in Math and Science tutoring but am also capable of tutoring English and Social Studies at the high-school and college level. I have good communication skills and patients and students have commented that I am good at explaining difficult concepts.

I have the ability to explain concepts in science and math in different ways, each one tailored to a student's particular learning style. I understand the importance of doing exercises and practicing, and assign problems accordingly. While I do not "ride" my students, I monitor how well they are pursuing their studies, and encourage them to be committed and diligent.

I have been described as a "natural born teacher" and have the patience necessary to guide students through the difficult subjects of math, statistics and science. I am knowledgeable about and make good use of web-based resources for learning including animations and interactive websites. I don't believe that any students I have worked with have come away from me without significantly increasing their knowledge and abilities.
