My name is Miles T. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, OMSCS program. Previously, I finished a Data Science bootcamp through UC Berkeley in 2021. While these days I am more focused on working in and improving my expertise in the IT field, I also have three college degrees from top music conservatories, such as the San Francisco conservatory of Music and the Colburn Conservatory of Music. I have taken many classes in music theory and history while enrolled in music school and feel confident to teach general music theory and history, especially that of the Western European canon.

While enrolled at the San Francisco conservatory in 2016, I gained experience in teaching double bass to small groups as well as privately at a Middle School in the Presidio neighborhood in the city. After moving to Los Angeles in 2018, I worked as a private double bass tutor for the Colburn community program, teaching students between 10 and 17 years old. I love to teach and gain immense pleasure from seeing a student grow their skills and their confidence over time. Overall, I like to first assess the students' ability first, then proceed to tailor my approach given their temperament and ambition. I would ideally use any props and examples as I am able, and would most likely be demonstrative but not to the point of flustering the student. I like to ask them questions to keep them engaged.
