I can be formal and make up lessons, but I would rather be the tutor that helps the student understand their assignments, and study for a test. I enjoy helping all ages of students, K-12 and the occasional college student. I like for the student to be hands on, so sometimes I use objects or manipulatives to help explain problems.
Right now, I am currently working as an adjunct Math Instructor at Butler Community College. I am also tutoring 8-10 high school students, a couple middle school students, and work in a math lab at BCC Campus in Andover. My biggest joy is helping students discover a way they can achieve their future goals.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Amazing tutor!

She is an amazing tutor, helping me to better understand geometry. Her tutoring has allowed me to understand the homework I have trouble with. She is patient, helpful, and willing to help me with any trouble I have. She is a wonderful tutor and I would like her to continue to tutor me in math.

Very knowledgeable

She helps me understand stand the problem solving steps to the problem instead of just coming up with an answer. She's very patient, kind, and just overall sweet as can be. I'm glad I found her.

Worked well together

Katrina had a two- hour session with my rising senior for Algebra 2. The two seemed to work well together. She was patient and got him organized. He said he felt like he learned more with her than with us parents trying to help him. They will continue working together a few times a week through summer school.

Great Tutor

We highly recommend Katrina as a Math tutor. Our son's test grades significantly improved after we started tutoring with Katrina. Our son's test grades went from 65% to 80% and above within weeks of starting the tutor sessions.

My daughter really likes working with Katrina. She's one of the few tutors who has helped her grasp geometry. :) If you're looking for someone patient and effective - Katrina is your tutor!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Katrina asked questions to get to know my daughter. Then they worked on several topics she was having a test over the next day. My daughter scored higher on that test than on any so far this year, after just one hour with Katrina. She can't wait to see her again.

When my son told me he got an A on his quiz after one session with Katrina, I said money well spent! She’s awesome and thorough. We are appreciative! So glad my sister referred her to us!
