I am a special educator who has retired after 30+ years in the business. I love working with adolescents, and my strength is in forging bonds of mutual trust and respect with both parents and students. I am familiar with all areas of the high school curriculum and have taught and tutored in the area of study skills and strategies.

I would like to help you and your child by helping them get and stay organized and stay on top of short and long-term assignments. I can be in touch with their teachers, reteach content that is challenging for your student, develop organizational and study strategies that fit with their learning profile and help eliminate some of your nightly battles about homework. I have taught English literature, language and MCAS preparation to special education students many times during my career, and have been an inclusion teacher in general education English classes for several semesters.

I have extensive experience with students with many kinds of learning needs. I have worked in both a supportive and direct instruction model. I hold MA professional teaching certificates in the area of moderate disabilities, grades 5-12, and in special needs, grades N-9.
