Hi, my name is Katie! I am a certified teacher with a wide range of experience. I have been a Pre-K teacher, 4th grade teacher, high school biology teacher, and have 4 years of experience teaching science to grades 4-8. I also spent 7 years as an informal educator at a zoological facility- educating families and students about the wonders of the natural world while being surrounded by giraffes, rhinos, and other exotic species.
I have a BA in biology and MS in environmental science from Taylor University, but my true passion is in teaching. I enjoy working with all ages of students and I love to see student growth and the excitement a student receives from conquering a difficult concept or lesson. I especially focus on making material relevant and engaging for my students and teaching them to think for themselves.
