Hello, my name is Daniel C.

I am a high school senior that has recently been admitted into Brown University. I understand academic excellence at its peak and my strong foundations in mathematics will allow me to provide comprehensive guidance to help students excel on the math portion of standardized tests and their coursework.

Throughout my life I've been involved in math. I have been selected to represent Connecticut in the National ARML Competition and scored a 1550 on the SAT with a 790 on the math portion. I have also been involved in the Varsity Math Team at my high school all four years and I am currently the captain.

My approach for teaching SAT/ACT math is to focus on two aspects that I believe are crucial for success: the math skills and the skills under the pressure of time. Oftentimes, from my experience I see that students struggle in this portion of standardized testing due to simply being put in a new time-pressure environment. I like to recreate this environment in my teaching while also teaching the necessary math skills. In order to achieve this, my curriculum for each student will be completely custom-tailored to what I think will best benefit them with frequent test-simulative practice under my guidance.

For my approach towards math coursework, I believe it is imperative to stay a few steps ahead. I will help my students learn the material they are learning currently in school and I will also expose them to the next subjects they will be learning. This is extremely helpful when they eventually get to these subjects in school as much of the material will already be familiar and allow more time for genuine synthesis of the material. Math doesn’t always click and giving the maximum time to allow it to genuinely make sense is key.

I am very easy to reach and will be responding quickly as I am just starting up on this platform. Please feel free to contact me!
