I'm Olivia! I'm about to graduate with Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I have been tutoring at the college level for the past two years, and I specialize in Genetics, Organic Chemistry, and Molecular Biology. These were some of the hardest classes for me, and having someone there to guide my understanding made a huge difference - it allowed me to enjoy what I was learning instead of staying frustrated.
My approach to tutoring is all about finding the right words to explain a concept, because what might work for one student could seem like complete gibberish to another. I work with my students to engage deeply with the material, and help them find methods of learning that work for them and their unique brains. My goal is for a student to feel so comfortable talking about their class material that they can teach it back to me, or to their peers.
I believe that science is all about exploration and learning to understand the world around you, and I want to encourage that wonder in all my students.
