I am a current educator with over 16 years of experience tutoring students at all grade levels. I provide general homework help, standardized test PSAT, SAT and ACT preparation and assistance in developing effective study skills that will ensure success in all subject areas. In addition, I specialize in two areas of expertise: mathematics: elementary through high school including Algebra I and II and Geometry, and writing: coaching and editing for college essays, research papers and all written assignments.

I have the ability to make students understand math at any and all levels. I firmly hold to the philosophy that everyone can do math. My approach involves testing the waters, initially, and figuring out what methods work for an individual student.

I tailor my tutoring sessions based on individual student needs and learning styles. I create a rapport with the students I tutor which allows them to feel at ease with me and build confidence in their own capabilities through the support and encouragement I provide them. All this, while making learning fun, which I believe to be important in helping students to develop an ongoing passion for learning.

I am confident that any student would make significant progress studying with me, and my classroom experience also makes me sensitive to individual issues that might arise, such as test anxiety. I am patient, methodical, and kind, but have high expectations that my students will achieve success in math and writing.

Above all, I find math to be fun and exciting, and I love to instill that enthusiasm in my students!
