My approach, when tutoring, is to meet and discuss with a caregiver the concerns and wishes for the student, assess the student's needs, and customize a series of lessons leading to success. I specialize in reading and writing support at all levels, including essay writing, to meet both state requirements on testing as well as the Common Core Curriculum standards. I create a stress-free environment taking the students from where they are, and create success for them all along the journey of knowledge.

I am licensed in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education with master’s degrees in both Early Childhood and Special Education. During my years of service, I was a staff developer and trained teachers in implementing NYS Core Curriculum, as well as, best practices in teaching. After retiring, I worked as a literacy consultant for Center for Educational Innovation-Public Education Association ( CEI-PEA) from 2004 - 2011. I subsequently served as a literacy consultant/presenter for Catapult Learning in New York City and New Jersey from 2010 - 2014. In recent years, I have tutored students from 2nd- 8th grade, specializing in literacy development.
