I also have years of experience working with teens in scouting. I communicate well with this age group. I am a reading counselor for the reading merit badge. Through scouting and professional work I have many hours of youth protection training. Through my professional and scouting experience I have developed skills to communicate, teach and provide students with means to access and use their skills and resources available to them to the best of their ability.

I am an avid reader and can assist youth to discover their literary interests and to assist them with locating material in written form that will peak their interest. Reading what interests a person prompts focus and attention, which in turn increases active participation and ultimately improves a students ability to read.
