About Michael


Bio

Learning has always been a passion in my life. Academic learning, life experience, motivational books. Just name it. I have helped and tutored grade levels from elementary to college, where I majored in Chemical Engineering. I took time to understand concepts and extended these understandings to different subjects. I took AP science, math, history and social science courses in high school and continued my intellectual pursuits in college.

Learning has always been a passion in my life. Academic learning, life experience, motivational books. Just name it. I have helped and tutored grade levels from elementary to college, where I majored in Chemical Engineering. I took time to understand concepts and extended these understandings to different subjects. I took AP science, math, history and social science courses in high school and continued my intellectual pursuits in college.

I have usually tutored math and science subjects in individual and group settings. I spent the majority of my time in high school tutoring as part of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF). In college, I was a leader in Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honors Society). I enjoyed teaching numerous students in both lower and upper division math, science, and engineering courses.

I was also part of a UC research program where I learned and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. I expanded upon my knowledge base with these applications in my professional life.

I'm here to help you understand and hopefully have mastery over a topic. I don't believe in memorization to succeed. Yes, it's needed at times. But you'll have a much better time in school understanding it conceptually. I've been there. And yes, it's frustrating. But there are many ways to learn.

This is a team effort. Learning takes effort from both the student and the mentor. Let's learn together!

A real teacher not just a tutor
