I have over six years of tutoring and teaching experience, including STEM tutoring at Florida Atlantic University, teaching eighth-grade science students during the 2019 to 2020 academic school year, and licensing examination test preparation for medical students at Duke University School of Medicine.

I scored 130, 132, and 130 (95th+ percentiles) in the Chemical and Physical, Biological and Biochemical, and Psychosocial sections of the MCAT, respectively, and specialize in teaching these subjects. I have also passed USMLE STEP1 and scored a 255 on USMLE STEP2, and am well-versed in instruction relating to USMLE and shelf examinations. More broadly, I have been involved in consulting related to study skills for college and graduate programs, professional development within the realm of biomedical sciences and professional degrees, as well as high-level tutoring for subjects within STEM such as physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, general and organic chemistry, algebra and algebraic based physics.

Throughout my years teaching and within higher education, I have found ways to learn that have taken me from entering community college to attending the top three medical schools in the U.S. If you are interested in the tangible ways that have allowed me to reach my goals and a truly engaging tutoring experience that will enhance your chances of reaching your aspirations, I would be honored to be an advisor to you on your professional journey. Please don't hesitate to ask how I can help you reach your goals.

Cheers,
Ale

Epidemiology

Epidemiology

As a medical student within Duke University School of Medicine, our curriculum heavily emphasizes basic sciences as well as a robust epidemiology foundation. Moreover, all medical students endure an epidemiology and biostatistics course, as well as an evidence-based medicine curriculum where we learn to appraise literature and its impact on the population. Furthermore, both USMLE STEP1 and STEP2 exams test basic and complex principles relating to epidemiology, of which I have passed and performed at the 90th percentile for anesthesiology applicants.

Amazing insight for medical school interview prep!

Ale was a fantastic resource for prepping for my medical school interview. I had an interview at my top choice medical school the day following our session and was a bit nervous for the MMI portion and conveying my overall story in the traditional interviews. Ale was well versed in medical school interviews. We went through various MMI scenarios and Ale gave me fantastic concrete and constructive feedback to improve. I saw improvement in just a few scenarios and Ale was extremely patient and supportive! Ale also had excellent ideas on how to tell my story. I went into the interview with so much more confidence than I would have without Ale’s help! I would highly recommend Ale!
