Hello Everyone:
My name is Martin and I believe I can offer excellent tutoring assistance for you.
I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry, with an additional concentration in biology, from the University of Central Missouri. I graduated from UCM in 1990 and have been employed since as a forensic toxicologist for the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory. I currently direct the toxicology program for the entire state.
While I was in college I was responsible for teaching two lab classes and did some substitute teaching as well. During my years at the MSHP Laboratory, I have been responsible for training a number of new employees, as well as presenting information and training to a wide variety of groups including coroners, prosecutors, and police officers.
I have a broad knowledge of all scientific subjects including chemistry, biology, toxicology (of course), physics, and math. Additionally, I have an excellent aptitude with English and writing, as well as very good skills with computer software such as the Microsoft Office package. I am also a pianist and can teach piano at a very basic level.
I believe the best form of education is a guided approach, asking questions of the student and encouraging him or her to use the intellect to deduce an answer. I can present material from a very elementary to an advanced level, depending on the need of the student.
If I sound like someone who could be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be pleased to help.
