I have 7 years of teaching experience teaching freshmen and sophomores in remedial and introduction to composition, including teaching reading comprehension and writing. I have worked with students who weren’t ready for college. Some didn’t have the fundamentals for writing correct sentences. My specialty is in preparing struggling students for the rest of their classes through empathetic and supportive practices that help them to find their unique voice. I myself have ADHD, so I’m practiced in techniques that help neurodivergent students.
Most of my students in my professional career have been between the ages of 17-22, although I have done quite a lot of tutoring for high school students. I can prepare you for the ACT and SAT as well. I work with students both in a classroom setting as well as on-on-one. I’m extremely responsive and prepared to help students with drafts of papers or essays, as well as proofreading and other supports.
