I am a mechanical engineer and designer specializing in systems engineering, environmental design, and mathematical modeling. At heart, I am a puzzler and a problem solver, drawn to discovering and creatively harnessing the mathematics that govern the world. I am currently an Avionics Operations and Systems Engineer at SpaceX in Los Angeles, CA, where I work primarily on designing and maintaining electronics on the Crew Dragon spacecraft responsible for the first crewed flights to the International Space Station by a private company.

In terms of Academic tutoring, I have past experience as a counselor teaching a programming camp and volunteered in 2018-2019 at a STEM tutor for a local public school in Los Angeles. I served as outreach and education coordinator for the Northwestern Solar Car Team from 2015-2017.

On the musical side of things, I have played violin since I was 3 1/2 and piano since I was 6. I studied violin under the Suzuki Method and later under Almita Vamos and Robert Hanford, and performed around the world with the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra. I have tutored students in violin from ages 5 - 16 and believe that music has to be learned and taught just like any other language. I currently perform as fiddler in the Rattlesnakes Bluegrass Band in Los Angeles, CA.

I'm drawn to tutoring because I love helping others learn and figuring out ways to make difficult concepts easy to understand. I take great pride in the students that I tutor and the excellence in their subjects that they so often achieve.

I received a 36 on the ACT Math test and have a Minor in Mathematics from Northwestern. I enjoy explaining and helping others to understand the inherent beauty that mathematics possesses in the way that it allows us to describe patterns in the world around us. I have tutored peers in advanced Real Analysis courses and am able to find ways to convey complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner. Moreover, understanding the mathematics is only half the battle on the ACT. I teach effectiv

Great solidworks tutor.

Alex is awesome. He teaches the knowledge and skills I need to be successful in my class. He answers questions in specific detail and helps me clearly understand when I'm confused. Alex is patient, easy to talk to and he has a sense of humor which is a huge plus in my book. I plan to continue my lessons with him until I'm a pro. Thanks Alex! You rock!

Amazing Tutor!

Technical mathematics (Pre-Algebra - Pre Calculus) Iv been out school for well over 20 years. Back in College. Alexander was able to break the Math down so i could understand it. Very patient and at the same time conscious about the time it was taking to learn it. If i didn't understand the problem. He would use a different approach.Until i understood it. Wouldn't matter what age you are if your trying to learn. Highly recommend Alexander.
