Hi! My name is Ilene.

I am a graduate of UCLA School of Law and UCLA Anderson School of Management. I have a BA with honors in French Language and Literature, and an Adjunct in Management from State University of New York at Binghamton. I am a member of the California, New York and DC Bars.

As part of my academic and career coaching, on a one-on-one basis, I motivate and encourage clients, building confidence and empowering them so they can perform at their best. I come up with a road map/game plan as to their short and long term career goals and assist them with resume optimization, cover letters, their LinkedIn profiles, admission essays, personal statements, diversity statements, job searching, networking , interview preparation and salary negotiation.

In addition to my consulting and coaching business, I am currently a part time Student Advisor at UCLA School of Law. For more than eight years, I have been a mentor and mock interviewer and counseled hundreds of students in career planning, job search strategies, resume preparation, cover letter preparation, and networking. I have conducted mock job interviews, critiqued and coached students in preparation for job interviews often landing them their dream job.

I am also an avid reader, researcher and writer, and I can help anyone become a better writer in any subject. I have honed my writing craft through twenty five years in the legal field, first as a litigator, then as a transactional lawyer. I have a passion for proofing, and I excel at helping people put their best foot forward.

I strive to be the best Career Counselor/Coach/Writer/Editor that I can be and look forward to helping you be your best in presenting yourself to others.

Comprehensive and patient

She assisted me with creating a better core cover letter and gave me valuable tools moving forward! Really a great help! I plan to work with her more to boost my skills re: job interview prep too.

Quickly turned a first draft into a final draft

When I first worked with Ilene I had the first draft of my personal statement done, but it was still scattered in terms of getting my message across. Ilene took my work and helped condense it to better focus on answering the prompt, and highlighting the aspects of the paper that would strengthen my paper overall. She took my personal experiences into account, and helped me add it into my paper without losing it's focus. Her quickness and eagerness to help me write helped me realize what my paper could become, and within a few hours she transformed my first draft into a final one. Thank you!

Valuable Support

I could not thank Ilene enough for your timely valuable feedback with my recent job application. Her suggestions were all extremely helpful and made such a difference. Additionally, given my limited budget she also went the extra mile without charging me for the extra time spent on the documents. Thank you Ilene, I am forever grateful!

Amazing and so patient!

Outside of being an amazing and talented editor, she's an incredible person! She took the time to really understand my needs before rushing into the process. It was really not about the money for her, you can tell she really cares.
