I have been teaching ESL/EFL since 2005. I am currently teaching first and second grade students in an elementary school in Oklahoma City.

Prior to this I lived in the Middle East and had several different jobs in the public and private sector. I first worked for the Department of Defense teaching foreign military personnel, both in the United States and abroad. I then was employed by the US State Department, Embassy in Iraq to provide English language teacher training in several cities. In addition, I was a contractor for a small US firm hired to teach English to high level government officials of that country. Finally I moved abroad and remained there for three years teaching adults in private settings.

I have taught all levels of English, including grammar, conversation, reading, writing and TOEFL. I have also learned a second language, and have lived where I could not read or write the language local to the region. I understand how difficult a task learning a language is, but also the benefits and rewards as proficiency improves.

I have earned an MA in English as a Second Language, University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. And I have instructed beginning to advanced levels of English language, with a focus on grammar, through the Defense Language Institute, Lackland, AFB, San Antonio, Texas.

I have also instructed TOEFL classes at a private institution, and a private university abroad. Additionally, I have established and implemented a program to offer English instruction to a local community abroad through a grant awarded by the United States Department of State.

I love to instruct ESL/EFL, the enjoyment of seeing my students progress, and also the ability to develop friendships and learn more about others' cultures. This is a second career for me, and I have never regretted the decision to enter into this field.
