I am a native Oregonian and grew up in a small town in Western Oregon. I had 5 other siblings and attended local public schools. After high school I joined the Navy and served for four years. After that I taught in a private Christian school for two years. A serious accident forced me to spend time recovering. So, I enrolled in college and eventually earned a degree in Education from Oregon State University.

Since then I have taught in several districts throughout the state and never get tired of being around students. Currently I am a substitute teacher in Rockaway Beach, OR and have subbed in all grades from K through 12th grade. I have even subbed in music classes. I always do everything I can to ensure the success of the student.

I am an excellent writer and make a point to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling, even on social media.

Articulation. Americans tend to slur a lot of words or use slang terms which may be confusing to learners. By speaking slowly and clearly it makes learning English easier and quicker. Also, if the student is confused about usage it is helpful to supply a definition for unusual words.
