Hello there! My name is Brenna, and in high school I took mostly Honors and AP classes; now I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in Psychology at Wellesley College. In high school and college, I noticed that educators would often push students so much that they would become overwhelmed and lose interest in the subject or school altogether.
I have taken Honors Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, AP Calculus BC (scored 4 on AP exam). I scored a 34 on the Math portion of the ACT.
I have taken Honors English, AP English Language (scored 4 on AP exam), AP English Literature (scored 5 on AP exam), and a writing course in college; I scored a 36 on the English portion of the ACT and a 34 on the Reading portion.
I have been a private tutor for a high schooler (ages 15-18) in a one-on-one setting for 3 years and do my best to push the student to grow in their learning while also managing their overwhelm. I show the student how to approach an example, then encourage them to do it on their own while being there to guide them, and I will show them more examples and go further into detail if they aren't grasping the concept.
I have tutored Honors level Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, English classes, and AP English Language. I would love to tutor you, and I welcome suggestions from students and parents about how to best conduct my sessions. I am very responsive; please feel free to message me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson! I look forward to meeting you.
