Hello from beautiful New Mexico! I am an attorney with a love for writing and research. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a few years later, enrolled in a top 30 law school. In law school, I received a Professionalism Award and achieved Honors in Legal Skills for excellence in research, writing, and analysis. As a Graduate Research Fellow, I worked alongside my professors conducting research and drafting memoranda on a variety of international and domestic legal issues. After graduation, I worked in appellate law before starting my own small practice. For the last ten years, I've been writing and editing in various capacities as an attorney and blogger, and most recently in my role as a freelance Book Coach and Ghostwriter for non-fiction authors. I've also been homeschooling my own kids and leading small group discussions around personal-growth books.

Instead of thinking in terms of "tutoring," I prefer to think of my role as being a writing "coach." Humans are natural storytellers and we all enjoy a good story and know one when we hear it. Writing surrounds us, just not in the form we might typically think of it. Our favorite songs and movies all exist because someone wrote their ideas down. And, while all styles of writing might not excite us quite as much as a new release, there are tricks of the trade that we can apply to any assignment that will improve our writing and enable us to communicate more clearly and effectively.

I am looking for students who have teachable spirits and genuinely want to improve their writing. Good writing is about having a meaningful relationship with the content and the potential reader. We will work on these things together, with you directing your experience and me offering guidance, insight, practical tools, and extensive feedback.
