I do math and physics tutoring, standardized test prep, and also have expertise in MATLAB, mathematical modeling, and data analysis. In addition, I am very passionate about coaching students who are preparing to take math competitions. I've been tutoring students in math for the past 27 years. I have tutored students with all levels and abilities. I have taught at the university level, the community college level, high school level, as well as elementary school level. Currently, I am teaching Honors Math and Physics courses at a high school in Lombard, IL. I generally tutor on the northside of Chicago and the west suburbs (Lombard, Villa Park, Elmhurst, and Naperville).

ONLINE TUTORING:
I tutor both in person and online. I believe that with the right technology, online tutoring can be an excellent and effective way to teach math. I have a writing tablet which allows students to see me write real time with clarity. I utilize an interactive whiteboard when necessary so that we can write and interact simultaneously. My online students find the experience to be quite beneficial and enjoy the ease of learning and getting their questions answered from the comfort of their home.

MATHEMATICS TUTORING:

I have experience tutoring students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Intermediate Algebra, Algebra 2, College Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus (Differential and Integral Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, and Advanced Placement - AP Calc AB and AP Calc BC), Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. I am also experienced in tutoring students in Discrete Math, Finite Math, and Real Analysis. I have taught most of these classes professionally for many years, with an emphasis on teaching AP Calculus AB and BC.

In addition, I enjoy teaching elementary and middle school students and introducing them to the joy and wonder of mathemat

I have a Master's Degree in Mathematical Modeling and Scientific Computing from Oxford University. I have been programming since I was a kid. I am experienced with Java and C. I am most well versed in MATLAB programming. I've taken a class in introductory C at Oxford. More importantly, I have a great deal of programming experience, especially in the area of algorithms and mathematical computer science. I am active on Project Euler and am currently in the top 3% of the programmers on this competitive programming site. You can check out Project Euler at https://projecteuler.net/ I want to get qualified in Computer Science on WyzAnt mainly to help students who need help in advanced MCS (Mathematical Computer Science) programming classes where they need to write complex algorithms. I would also love to help programmers who are taking their early steps on Project Euler and need mentorship to move forward in the various problems they have. Thanks!

MATLAB

I have a Masters Degree in Mathematical Modeling and Scientific Computing with Distinction from Oxford University. I used MATLAB throughout my graduate studies and most of my Masters thesis was done with MATLAB. Since then, for the past twelve years I have used MATLAB for various research projects relating generally to mathematical modeling within the field of medicine. I am experienced not only with basic functions within MATLAB but also more advanced functions as well as writing software in MATLAB. I worked for a trading firm in downtown Chicago for two years writing algorithms in MATLAB. Finally, I am currently tutoring a PhD student at Northwestern University in MATLAB. We are going through introductory books at the moment and eventually plan on moving onto more advanced MATLAB books. He is really enjoying my teaching and wants to work with me long term.

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I took Math 220 at UIC and got an A in it. This is the intro DiffEQ class. I also took Math 480 and 481 at UIC and got A's in them. These are the more advanced DiffEq classes which include PDEs (Partial Differential Equations). I also took many graduate level DiffEq related classes at Oxford. I have tutored in this subject through the years as well.
Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I took Math 215 at UIC which is very similar in content to Discrete Math. It is more of a theoretical version of Discrete Math which is more heavy on proofs. I did so well that I was asked by the Dept Head at UIC to be the TA for the class which I did for two semesters. I am very familiar with the concepts in Discrete Math. I recently tutored a student (John) from WyzAnt on Discrete Math and it went very well and he wrote a great review.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

Finite Math overlaps significantly with Discrete Math. If anything, it is usually a less rigorous version of Discrete Math for social science and business students. I am very familiar with the content and had no trouble tutoring students in Finite Math at UIC. have a Master's Degree in Mathematics with Distinction from Oxford University and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with Distinction from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Linear Algebra

I took Math 320 at UIC and got an A in it. This is the theoretical Linear Algebra class for math majors. I also took a graduate level Numerical Linear Algebra class in Oxford. I have tutored in this subject through the years as well.

Fantastic and brilliant tutor

My daughter was struggling in AP Physics C (Mechanics) because she hadn't taken Calculus the year before like the majority of her classmates. We sought out Junaid's help based on his background in both Physics C and Calculus BC, and he turned out to be a great tutor for her. Junaid's background is quite impressive. Even more impressive is his ability to make complex material digestible to a high school senior -- he has a gift for teaching. His teaching style resonates with my daughter's learning needs -- he explains the concepts first, reviews the material, and then checks for understanding. She comes home from her tutoring sessions with a one-page summary of notes for reference. The proof that she understands the material is in her grades. Highly, highly recommend!

A Great Calucus Tutor

Junaid tutors my daughter in calc b/c. He is knowledgeable in the subject, but that is not what makes him a great tutor. He has the ability to show how to break down a problem, to pinpoint what a student is missing so he can fill in the blanks, and the patience to make sure his students are comprehending the material. We are so grateful to have found him.

Very deep knowledge in BC/Multivariable Calculus and AP Physics C Mechanics, Best Tutor EVER!!!

Junaid has a mastery of the subject (BC/Multivariable calculus and Physics C ). He does not just teach the topic on a surface level, but he teaches the subject on a very deep level to make sure you understand the basis of the said topic. He has reviewed multiple AP exams and found errors on the exam that other professors around the country did not catch. I cannot recommend him enough.

Very patient and knowledgeable tutor!

He helped me understand a lot of fundamentals of MATLAB that I previously could not comprehend. He was also very patient in explaining how to look at code and what each line of code means and does overall. If I wasn't able grasp one explanation, he would find a different way to explain until it made sense. Before, MATLAB was very intimidating to me, but now coding in MATLAB has become fun and not so difficult for me because I am able to to understand it now!

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor

Junaid tutored me for a few weeks to help me prep for the quant section of the GMAT (Algebra, Geometry, problem solving, data sufficiency). He is very knowledgeable as he was able to help me solve any question I showed him very quickly. He explains things really well and makes sure I understand not just the question, but the whole concept so I can better answer future questions myself. My quant score went up greatly on my last test attempt after I received lessons from him. He also seems to really enjoy math and makes it more enjoyable for me as well!

Junaid is a wonderful tutor.

Junaid is a wonderful tutor. My 12th and 10th graders both find him very helpful with their math (AP Calc BC and Honors 10th grade) as well as physics for my older child.
