My name is Jen and I have been a teacher for 17 years. I have a BA, MA and SPED endorsement. I have taught grades prek, k, and 2nd. I have been tutoring for many years as well, and have worked with kids up to 6th grade. I have also worked with a multitude of learning disabilities.

Teaching is my passion. A move to another state has recently forced me to quit my teaching job, and for me, the next best thing is being to tutor children. It fulfills my need to work with children and help them succeed. I am looking forward to helping your child be successful.

I have been teaching math for 17 years. I have come through the entire common core process. I am aware of the benefits and challenges that it brings. I understand that giving students multiple strategies to solve a problem, and letting them choose what works for them, is a great way to help them achieve the skills they need to learn. I also understand that Common Core methods are new, and challenging for many parents.

Being a veteran teacher, I have taught across all subjects. I have taught the writing process, rules of grammar, as well as vocabulary across all subjects. I enjoy teaching through music and lots of visuals and find it to be very effective.

I am confident that I can help your child succeed, in whatever area they struggle in. I always tailor my lessons and activities to exactly what the child needs and I believe in moving at a pace where the child can be successful. I provide meaningful activities that are scaffolded to be at just the right level for each child I work with.
