Hello! I am Alex. I have a degree in Special Education with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I am currently a Deaf Education teacher. I service students K-12. I teach all areas covered under English and Reading as well as doing some speech work along with teaching self-advocacy skills. Teaching is my passion and joy and I really wanted to spread and serve more students which is why I have started tutoring. The thing I love the most is seeing my students realize their potential and see their confidence increase. My students know that I believe they are all capable of learning and growing regardless of their differences or disabilities. They all know that I expect them to try and give it their best shot. We all make mistakes and we are not perfect, I am teacher and I make mistakes too! But, as long we keep trying and don't give up, we are all capable of more than we know! I am happy to help any student grow and succeed!

I have spent most of my time primarily in K-6. I am certified to teach K-12 but have found myself enjoying K-6 the most. I find myself being the most comfortable and familiar with the curriculum seeing as how I have spent majority of my teaching time in K-6. A lot of students require modified work, which means I may have to rewrite the work in a lower language level so my students can understand it. This mean that I have experience differentiating for students of all levels.

I teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students who use American Sign Language. I sign on a daily basis and am constantly reviewing information. I am able to hold conversations with my students in sign as well as their interpreters.

I teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students who often come to me severely language deprived. Therefore, majority of my time is spent teaching all English, reading, writing, grammar, language, vocabulary etc. for 2+ hours a day! Teaching these things to these students is quite similar to teaching ELL students so I feel comfortable teaching English.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Educati

Really fun and helpful!

She was extremely funny and knowledgeable and helped me with a lot of my homework. I really enjoyed learning from her and I'd definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking to learn sign language. She also responded very quickly and is very passionate about ASL. I felt really comfortable talking with her and learned a lot from just an hour!
