Currently a Professor at Delta College in American Government, my past experience also includes Business, Computers, English as a Second Language, Life in America and History at other colleges and universities such as Hunter College, Berkley as well as organizations such as CompUSA, ATM Friendly Computers and various corporate settings.
My approaches include one-on-one, small groups of two or three and classes of up to 30. On some occasions lectures for audiences of up to 300 people have also proven effective. General requirements are that students and myself have the same textbook and work together from the text and supplement this with weekly assignments and testing. Testing can be done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Most of my tests are essay format as this demonstrates the ability to recall and communicate the information being studied.
At the collegiate level 90% of my students earn a B and above, 86% achieve an A or A- and the methods utilized prove beneficial in other classes as well. My main point is to convey the essence of the subject successfully and also to instill good study habits that the student(s) will find beneficial in other areas as well as life in general.
