Bio

I have substitute taught K-8 all levels and now teach 6th grade English. I love tutoring and feel it is very rewarding to have 1:1 time with students. Tutoring inspires me, and I enjoy working with students of all ages. I began teaching Middle School English 'online' in March 2020, and now I tutor online which is fun and very similar! Tutoring inspires me, and I enjoy working with students of all ages. I began teaching Middle School English 'online' in March 2020, and now I tutor online which is fun and very similar! I'm state certified in Elementary Level K-8 in IN, WI and IL; I have many years of experience teaching students who have various learning differences such as ADHD, Autism, Gifted and Talented and English Language Learners.

At this time, I prefer to tutor online, but once the pandemic passes I will also reserve a room or table at the local library or cafe that is convenient to all.
Please contact me to learn more about me, and to see whether you think I'm a good fit for the subject in which you/your student are having a hard time. If you decide we are a good fit, we will meet at public library/Cafe or remote on the Wyzant platform.

Depending on a student needs we can learn English on phonics, grammar, reading, spelling, writing, mechanics, vocabulary, etc. I use a lot of additional materials to make my lessons interesting. I have a great program for each age group. Being an English teacher in the middle school, I have classroom and online teaching experience.

I am pretty flexible to afternoons and weekend mornings. I understand things come up and can work on cancellations if you message me to reschedule.

Ms. Cathi is my son’s reading/language tutor. She has years of experience and it shows in her lessons and instructions. She always comes to the class fully prepared with a lesson plan and homework assignment. She is very easy to work with and very flexible to adjust content based on my son’s needs. She kept the class focused on the topic and held my son’s attention for the entire class. She is encouraging, supportive, and is also very easy to chat with.
