I make movies!

Hello, my name is Jesús. I have a MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from DePaul University, one of the top Film Schools in the world! After graduating from DePaul, I returned to Puerto Rico and created my own Production Company, working in the island's local industry for the past five (5) years.

My work experience includes a bit of everything: directing music videos, producing podcasts, creating content for social media, and much more. Additionally, I worked as a Freelance...

Hello, my name is Jesús. I have a MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from DePaul University, one of the top Film Schools in the world! After graduating from DePaul, I returned to Puerto Rico and created my own Production Company, working in the island's local industry for the past five (5) years.

My work experience includes a bit of everything: directing music videos, producing podcasts, creating content for social media, and much more. Additionally, I worked as a Freelance Photographer for an advertising agency and taught Filmmaking for two (2) terms at a local university courses such as:

- Film History,
- Screenwriting,
- Directing/Acting,
- Digital Photography,
- Cinematography,
- and Lighting, among others

My philosophy as a professor? Make learning fun! Let's watch movies and learn from the masters, let's MAKE movies and put theory to practice, and let's also learn about something that is seldom taught in school: the actual industry, how things really work once you graduate.

I completed a MFA in Cinema at DePaul University, one of the top Film Schools in the world. For the past 5 years, I have successfully worked as an independent filmmaker directing music videos, producing podcasts, and creating content for social media back home in Puerto Rico. I also taught at the university level courses such as Producing, Directing, Digital Photography, Lighting, Writing, Film History, and many more.

My film production education also introduced me to both the art and technique of photography; therefore, I believe that my BFA (as well as my MFA) in film provided me not only with the knowledge, but also the skills to become a successful photographer. After graduating, I worked as a Freelance Photographer for a local Advertising Agency, serving as the official photographer for the mayor of Canóvanas, one of Puerto Rico's municipalities; job in which I captured snapshots of many important events.

I had the opportunity to complete a MFA in Cinema from one of the top film schools in the world. This provided me with training in every aspect of filmmaking, from screenwriting and directing to photography, sound, and editing. As a professional, I have had the opportunity to produce many music videos within many genres; particularly, Puerto Rican "Reggaeton" (urban music) and Rock. I did photography (camera work), as well as directed and/or edited all of these projects. For the last two years, I have also produced one of Puerto Rico's top three podcasts (Maiky Backstage), in which we've interviewed some of Urban Music's biggest names. Once again, I've found myself wearing many hats in this job: Director, Camera Operator, Gaffer, Sound Recorder/Mixer, and Editor. And I could also mention many other projects, (particularly) social media content, I have produced for both small and large companies or brands. For example, worldwide-titan Generac has become one of the clients for my newest production company, a joint effort with two friends and fellow filmmakers.
