As many people do, I began my desktop publishing history with Microsoft Publisher...back in 1997 where it was a required module in my middle-school computer class. I gained more training and experience throughout high school as well. Since my days of solely relying on Microsoft Publisher, I have moved on to use more powerful tools, like Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Figma. Professionally, I have designed or aided in the design of restaurant menus, websites, mobile apps, desktop apps, books, magazines, pamphlets, directories, programs (such as for theatrical plays), posters, signs, fliers, custom-printed merchandise, and even logo design. You name it and I've likely got experience working on such a project. A notable project I can think of, off hand, is the parent/student directory that I was hired to design and lay out for the PTA at Newport Beach Elementary in Newport Beach, California.
