Hallo,

I hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and have passed my Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) in Chemical Engineering exam, so I have to know quite a bit of math and science for me to do well in my current job! I tutor on the side to keep up with my skills and to fulfill my passion for teaching. I am extremely passionate about math, science, and engineering (especially chemistry, thermodynamics, and material and energy balances). I also did exceptionally well in both high school and college at history, writing, and reading - I continue to teach all these subjects on a regular basis.

I have a fantastic academic record. I graduated with honors from my university - not an easy feat as an engineering major. I also earned a 4.0 GPA in my college preparatory high school, and I graduated as valedictorian. I definitely fully understand every single subject I tutor.

I have tutored many students during high school, university, and now as a professional between being a teaching assistant and private tutor. My basic approach to tutoring is to see why you are struggling. For most students, it is because they aren't quite up to scratch in fundamentals, and if that is the case I will focus on solidifying those with you. After that, I will work on the problems that not understanding fundamentals caused. If your fundamentals aren't the problem, usually a student doesn't understand something because it hasn't been explained in a way that they can understand, so I will do my best to find a way to best explain them to you. This method has worked with every single student I have tutored. I will NOT do your homework for you - I will simply try to help you learn enough so that you can complete it and, more importantly, understand it on your own.

I truly hope that you consider me for tutoring - I will do the absolute best job I can to help you succeed in your academic difficulties. There is nothing more that I enjoy than helping a struggling student.

I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA in a college preparatory curriculum, so I have covered all the material necessary to pass a GED. In addition, I have tutored many students in every major subject area - math, science, history, and English - and all of them have succeeded in improving their understanding of the material as well as their grades.

Engineers joke - correctly - that after school, the software we most use is Excel. I know the ins and outs of Excel very well at this point, both for engineer and business work, and I have taught many students the easiest/fastest ways of making the program do a lot of work for you.
Microsoft Word,

Microsoft Word

I have used Microsoft Word ever since I was seven years old, when I was learning how to type. I am familiar with all of the editions since then - I currently use Microsoft Word 2010, which is not too different from Microsoft Word 2007. I am also very familiar with Microsoft Word 2003 and the ones before that with the .doc system as opposed to the .docx.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have taught algebra at all levels for the last fifteen years and really understand the pitfalls most people go through. Because I also teach higher level math, I also understand the importance of getting the basics of algebra correct (for instance, 90% of calculus is algebra, and the calculus is the easy part) in order for my students to feel confident in the rest of their math journey. I focus on my students understanding concepts rather than memorizing methods, and I use a lot of real-life problems to make the math more relatable to everyday life.

I focus on my students understanding concepts rather than memorizing methods, and I use a lot of real-life problems to make the math more relatable to everyday life.
Biology,

Biology

As a chemical engineer, a large part of my degree was biology and biochemistry focused. I have also been tutoring biology at the high school (including AP biology) and university levels since 2011.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have been tutoring calculus (AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Calculus I/II/III, business calculus, etc.) at the high school and college level since 2010. My high school students have all done extremely well on the AP exam even if their class teachers were not great. My university students have also done very well after beginning to work with me.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have been tutoring chemistry for over fifteen years at all levels - introductory high school, AP Chemistry, and general chemistry at the university level. As a practical chemical engineer, I put everything I learned in my degree to practice every day and my students really benefit from the real-life examples I use to explain basic chemistry concepts.

I played in my elementary and middle school band and participated in marching band as well as the school band in high school. I have also taught several friends how to play the flute. Really great!

She is so kind and highly intelligent. She helped me out last minuet, despite how late it was in her time zone. She for sure knows what she is talking about and I am confident my homework will have a high grade due to her help! Definitely requesting her again!
