I believe the most important skill students should take with them is to put diligent effort into their work. Students who put off assignments or procrastinate often have the hardest time achieving the grades they deserve. Therefore, I wish to be both a tutor as well as a mentor to them in their scholastic experience. I hope to encourage students to not only want to learn but also get better at it.

I received my Master's Degree in History. In my War & Violence track, It was required of me to read dozens of historiographical monographs every semester, I also had to participate in several discussion boards and write at least 2-3 papers (usually 5-7 pages-- double-spaced, TNR, 12 pt. Font, each) per week. Writing became a necessary proficiency during the pursuit of my 2 degrees. I also was a Writing Center tutor where I assisted students with their collegiate-level papers. Examples of my tutoring sessions included going over: MLA, APA, & Chicago Manual Styles; grammar & composition, constructing a thesis, helping them properly structure/format their papers in an intro, body paragraph, conclusion, format. I tutored both undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of subject matters ranging from ESL, English Writing, Biology, History, etc. I also worked as a Graduate Assistant for the History Department where I graded students' papers and provided them with feedback to improve their essays in the future. It not only matters for students to receive "a grade" on their essays, but to also receive wr

Common Core,

Common Core

I completed the Texas Core at Houston Community College as of 2017, which I immediately transferred to Sam Houston State University with. It made me an incredibly well-rounded college student. I also felt as if I were more versatile, overall. Rather than just "specializing in one" subject like Math, English, or History, I learned how to be good at most subjects with critical thinking skills.
Elementary (K-6th),

Elementary (K-6th)

I earned my M.A. in History and have spent most of my life in school. I don't have a specific certification in K-12 but I have worked with/taught to college students with the fields I'm most experienced in. The most important feature I would argue when working with younger students (especially) is to be patient.
Reading,

Reading

My degrees in History reflect my experience in constantly reading/analyzing information. At a young age, I didn't always comprehend the material, often feeling pressured to answer the question before time ran out. Since then I've read so many educational/historical works that I've understood how to synthesize large quantities of information in a short period of time.
Spelling,

Spelling

As a Writing Center tutor, I often worked with students on their spelling & grammar. It does not have to be perfect, but students can always improve with practice. That is what I wish to work on with my students. Practice makes perfect!
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I immigrated from El Santiago de Compostela, Spain when I was 2 years old. I picked up English extremely quickly while I was in a dual-language program. Although at times I do struggle in vocabulary, I have practiced my vocab ever since I was young. I passed my Graduate Requisite Exam (GRE) to get into my Master's Program which taught me some excellent vocab-comprehension skills.

I work as a Program Coordinator at my university where I primarily work with excl, and am a data analyst. Although math was not what I obtained my degrees in, I graduated high school with 6 math credits (which only requires 4), I essentially taught my MATH 1314 course in community college where the professor used me as a reference to make sure the answers were correct. I am passionate about math and using critical thinking skills, similarly to the charts/spreadsheets I work with on a daily basis. I am also able to explain the material in a way that makes sense, and understand that patience when working with learners is a virtue.

After I graduated high school, I learned some phenomenal skills relating to the college application process. I applied for several colleges at once, applied for financial aid/scholarships, and made sure to obtain access to my academic transcripts. Studying with Bram

Bram was a very patient and caring teacher. Even when I asked questions repeatedly, he was still patient with me and willing to teach me unti I understand everything. Lessons with Bram was similar to teachers from school, except that he will not dodge certain questions that "you do not need to know right now" and there is a more personal connection with his friendliness. Because of that, talking with Bram actually feels more like studying with a knowledgeable friend who was willing to help you through everything.

Especially good for history papers

On a hunch I interested the word history along with writing and so I had the pleasure to work with Bram. His writing skills are excellent, and he added great insight into my research paper.

Professional and knowl feedback

He provided detailed feedback on my MLA college essay. He also provided additional resources for me. I highly recommend him. I plan on working with him in the near future with my longer essays.
