I have been an English Teacher for 7 years, and I use my years of experience to help my pupils increase their skills in the areas of writing, reading, speaking and presentations. The students that I work with feel comfortable and empowered by my teaching techniques. Because I am still a licensed English Teacher, I can support any student to work with their current teachers' expectations to find success. I have been an English Teacher for 7 years, and I use my years of experience to help my pupils increase their skills in the areas of writing, reading, speaking and presentations. The students that I work with feel comfortable and empowered by my teaching techniques. Because I am still a licensed English Teacher, I can support any student to work with their current teachers' expectations to find success. I specialize in college prep course work and supporting students in improving their writing skills and helping them to build lasting confidence in their abilities. I want my students to find a love for reading and writing through using topics that are relevant to the specific student. Giving students the opportunity to grow and learn skills that will support their writing and reading through college is paramount rather than just getting a good grade on an assignment.

I also have an acting background that helps me support students in presenting projects and speaking skills. I am familiar with most technologies currently used in the classroom, and I am willing to learn any programs that my students may be asked to use for a presentation.

Saw great improvement!

We asked Elaine to tutor my high schooler to help her feel more comfortable taking her ACTs. Elaine worked diligently with her on a weekly basis. She went over material, and provided good feedback regarding how our student could improve her scores. We saw a great bump in her score, and more importantly when test day arrived there were very few butterflies! Thank you Elaine!
