Hi, I'm Crystal! I'm a graduate of Cornell University where I majored in Computer Science and Philosophy. I'm currently working in software, but I have a passion for tutoring.

Before each lesson, I like to assign problems to be completed by session start, and any questions and misunderstandings to be messaged to me ahead of time. This way we can use our time more effectively and go over key concepts and potential roadblocks during the tutoring session instead of unnecessarily spending time on solo practice. By knowing concepts that you have trouble with, I’ll be able to focus on them during the session as well as create a personalized lesson plan and extra practice questions to ensure mastery. For math, I use the Art of Problem Solving curriculum which is one of the best in both quality and results.

I love math and have been doing competition math since 3rd grade. Since then, I've done AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, and have qualified for AIME, as well as the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament and Math Prize for Girls @ MIT. Exam-wise, I received a perfect score of 1520 on the PSAT including the math section, 800 on both Math SAT II tests, and a 790 on the SAT Math section as well as a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam. I've also continued teaching throughout college, including serving as a TA for math courses as well as designing curriculum for summer math programs.
