My name is Lori. I have been a teacher in Florida for over 18 years. I recently retired and am looking to work /tutor with middle and high school students on a one-on-one basis. I am certified in ELA for grades 6-12 and I am certified as a Reading Teacher K-12 in the State of Florida. I have taught English, Intensive Reading, Foundational Reading and Journalism. I am also certified as a high school Media Specialist. I have tutored and taught ACT/SAT English and Reading Test taking skills for over 10 years.

I earned my dual Masters in both English & Reading Education from the University of South Florida in 2018. I have taught virtually for an International Boarding School- ICA- which is located in Taiwan. I taught 11/12th grade English and writing to bilingual students that attended an American Boarding school in Taiwan.

I owned a face-to-face tutoring company through the Department of Education in 2010-2012. It was a contract with the Pinellas County School Board and I tutored grades 2-8 in ELA subject matter.
I have taught and tutored ACT/SAT Prep for over 10 years. I am proficient at teaching test taking strategies as well as teaching strategies to multi levels of readers.

I am a certified SEL teacher, and I have a micro-credential in Equity from the State of Florida.
I have experience teaching and editing writing for students grade 6-12. I have references if requested.
