I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University on August 2022 with a 4/4 GPA and completed MAT in Secondary Education- Mathematics. I am currently teaching at Kenwood High School, a Chicago Public School, as an Algebra II Teacher. I was selected on Dean’s list once in both Associate and Bachelor’s level. As an aspiring future Mathematics teacher, I am motivated to help others and I love the idea of being a lifelong learner.
I have over five years of experience tutoring to high school students. I have wide range of experience tutoring and teaching students from diverse backgrounds. My specialty lies in tutoring mathematics in several areas such as elementary algebra and trigonometry. In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build mathematical intuition needed to break down difficult concepts. I have a passion for math and want to impart that to others. I enjoy helping others learn more about math and their unique abilities. Something I value in learning is the ability to understand topics and not just memorize them. As such, I will patiently review and continue explaining topics in different ways until proper understanding and proper application are reached.
