I love teaching all kinds of music, especially to beginners. I use a student-centered approach and encourage people from all backgrounds and skill levels! My favorite topics to teach are piano, saxophone, music theory, composition, and jazz improvisation.

I believe that studying music is a privilege and is vital to becoming a well-rounded person. Music is hard, but it is very rewarding. I studied classical piano for 10 years when I was a child, before becoming interested in jazz music and improvisation. Studying music at the Eastman School of Music and at Lincoln Center has taught me to work hard and appreciate art. Because of my love for music and dedication to my instruments, I have been fortunate enough to play in bands such as the: Berklee Jazz Ensemble, U.S. All-Eastern Jazz Ensemble, the U.S. All-National Jazz Band, and the Eastman Jazz Ensemble. Recently, I have been studying Psychology at the University of Rochester. Learning about the human mind from such great teachers has allowed me to understand and refine my own teaching strategies.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to teaching you music and helping you achieve your goals!

My kid is learning loads!

We’ve had a handful of sax lessons with Jordan now, and my kid is really enjoying it. This is a really new instrument for us, and Jordan was so attentive and observant that he was able to instruct Max even though Zoom on how to modify his techniques. His teaching style is also refreshing, challenging Max to do improvs, even at this very early stage. I’m sure his style contributes to my kid’s enthusiasm, which all parents relish.

Great with kids!

Jordan has been helping my 8 year old son with saxophone lessons and is super patient, keeps him intrigued and my son is gaining more confidence! He helped with setting up the instrument, positioning it and he’s making progress in playing and learning the notes.

Very Knowledgeable and Easy-Going

My first lesson with Jordan went great! We went over the basics of song writing and I was given feedback on one of my songs. I highly recommend having Jordan be your tutor for your musical needs.

This guy is wonderful.

Jordan has me working on getting to know scales and I have already memorized four of them. He is also listening to me play a bit and I need to get his input on that. That first lesson was great.

Lessons get better each time.

Jordan knows how to build the content lesson to lesson. I have been a teacher for 20 years, Jordan is a natural instructor. Although it's obvious that he puts a lot of work into his lessons, he makes it look effortless.
