I have years of experience tutoring a wide variety of populations. At the moment, I am tutoring adults in English as a Second Language. I currently have students from five different countries, all with unique needs. I take a very practical, real-world approach, teaching vocabulary each student needs for his or her particular social and professional situations. I have helped people write and edit resumes, practice oral presentations, and taught vocabulary for parent-teacher school conferences....

I have years of experience tutoring a wide variety of populations. At the moment, I am tutoring adults in English as a Second Language. I currently have students from five different countries, all with unique needs. I take a very practical, real-world approach, teaching vocabulary each student needs for his or her particular social and professional situations. I have helped people write and edit resumes, practice oral presentations, and taught vocabulary for parent-teacher school conferences. I especially enjoy helping students improve their pronunciation and intonation and helping them become more confident.

I prefer to work weekdays. This generally means that I am a better schedule fit for adult learners. I have also occasionally worked with children in homeschooling programs. I am happy to have a short initial meeting, free of charge, to assess the student's level of knowledge and see if we are a good personality match.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Karin is such a knowledgeable and patient teacher that her lessons and tips are helping me a lot with my pronunciation, intonation, etc. We went over the common characteristics of English pronunciation and she gave me plenty of exercises to practice stress and intonation. My pronunciation and intonation got improved a lot. Highly recommended.
