I've worked in the analytical software business for a number of years, and have trained software engineers for Fortune 500 companies worldwide. I have extensive practical experience with using math and science for software applications. I have run a software consulting business for over 25 years. I have managed teams of software engineers on small and large software projects, including Agile projects. I have taught computer science courses for CU/Boulder and Red Rocks Community College.

I have B.S. degrees in computer science and physics from Colorado State University.

So...why be a tutor? I started tutoring my kids in math & science when they were in middle school because it looked like they would begin to lose ground otherwise. I discovered I liked it, and would up tutoring them and their friends later on.

My goal is to work myself out of a job - to make it possible for you to say "Wow. I get it. I don't need your help any more." Note that this means I won't do your work for you. Instead, I'll work diligently with you to make you more successful and more confident in your newly acquired skills.

Piano,

Piano

You might be wondering why a computer jock would be interested in tutoring on the piano. I'm a professional computer nerd and a musician by avocation. Music is a nice release for me, and it turns out that there is a lot of overlap between scientists and musicians. I've been playing the piano since I was a little kid, and was originally a piano performance major in college. I'm a former church accompanist and organist. I've taught piano lessons to kids and adults.

H.S. A/P computer science help

Although it was my sons first session, Greg really helped him dig into his lesions and understand. I think it would be helpful to have more material ready to go over with Greg in the future. We will definitely use Greg again!

Great Tutor

Greg helped me with an assignment that I was struggling with after taking a long summer break following my into to C++ class. He helped me refresh my memory about everything that I had forgotten over the summer and taught me few new things as well. I have already booked another lesson.

Excellent teacher!

Greg was a lifesaver! I've been taking a class in Java online and getting very little help from the instructor so I've been teaching myself....poorly. Greg was able to take the pieces I had a loose grip on and give them meaning. He gave me the framework I was missing to be able to build programs on my own. One lesson with him already has me feeling more confident about my skills. He was patient and his explanations were clear. He was supportive and encouraging, validating my work/effort and ensuring I actually "got it". (some techies spend too much time showing off and talking above you - not Greg!) I look forward to continued sessions with him and I would highly recommend him to anyone struggling with programming.

Great first session

I just had my first session with Greg. He immediately assessed my level of experience with Java and was quickly able to help me understand some of the missing pieces in my code for my assignment. Greg is easy to talk to and clearly very knowledgeable in the field of Software Engineering.
