About Elissa

Bio

Hi there, I’m Elissa! I was born and raised in a family of ballet dancers and have studied with some of the most respected American dancers and teachers of today, including Gelsey Kirkland, Martine van Hamel, Douglas Martin, and of course my own parents Karen and Edward V. I began teaching the youngest dancers in my home studio as a teenager and have taught a variety of ages and abilities in the past few years. Hi there, I’m Elissa! I was born and raised in a family of ballet dancers and have studied with some of the most respected American dancers and teachers of today, including Gelsey Kirkland, Martine van Hamel, Douglas Martin, and of course my own parents Karen and Edward V. I began teaching the youngest dancers in my home studio as a teenager and have taught a variety of ages and abilities in the past few years. I have also earned my certification in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum in levels Pre-Primary through Level 5. I hope to finish my certification in levels 6,7, and Partnering in the near future when the courses are offered again.

As a school-age student, I trained at the Dance Center of New Jersey, Princeton Ballet School, and the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. Currently, as a pre-professional student, I split my time between the Dance Center of New Jersey, the Martin Center for Dance, the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble, and Steps of Broadway. I have attended many summer intensive training programs, including those of American Ballet Theatre, Princeton Ballet School, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and Kaatsbaan Ballet Intensive (formerly Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet). I began teaching the youngest dancers in my home studio as a teenager and have taught a variety of ages and abilities in the past few years. I have also earned my certification in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum in levels Pre-Primary through Level 5.
