I have had an excellent opportunity to teach a variety of library science courses as well as elementary education courses during my tenure at Chicago State University. I have worked in various capacities to prepare our department for accreditation visits of NCATE and ISBE. I am currently appointed to the Board of Program Reviewers for NCATE. I am currently working as an advisor for Library Science and Information Media department. I worked with the director of the department to create two cohort programs. The first cohort program was a fast track Masters Degree program. The candidates for department’s first fast track cohort graduated December 2011. I am currently working with candidates to receive an endorsement in library science in a cohort program.
I have worked with Chicago State University’s Library Science and Media Studies department for fourteen years, as a faculty member and facilitator. I retired in December 2007; however, the department asked me to return as an adjunct facility member. I have taught children and young adult literature, reference, research, administration, curriculum. I designed an online course and received the Dean’s faculty award.
