Bio

Hello! I graduated from Northeastern University in 2013 with a Bachelor's in International Affairs. While history and political science will always be near and dear to me, I had a career change to medicine, and have been an EMT/Paramedic for the last 10 years, including 3 years doing critical care transports. I am also a combat veteran, serving as an Army medic in Afghanistan.

My big focus is on EMT, paramedic, and medical education in general. I want to make the learning process dynamic, because PowerPoints only go so far! In particular, I work a lot with students struggling with the NREMT. I write my own quizzes to both mimic the test, but also to teach testing strategies and convey important knowledge points. A&P, medication math, and nursing level pharmacology are other areas I have experience in. Leveraging my bachelor's degree, I also tutor students on writing LEQs, SAQs, and DBQs for the AP history courses.

If you have particular questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out! I do adapt my materials to suit students needs, and change how I present material to better suit learning needs. Its not just about the knowledge, but how to synthesize it!

Best tutor for NREMT

I was terrified of the 20-minute out-of-hospital scenario I had to complete in order to pass my class. Ian helped me develop a systematic approach to patient assessment and practiced numerous scenarios to help me build confidence. His help and guidance helped me pass my scenario and move forward with my education. I will be calling him again for help on the Psychomotor exam.

Excellent Adavanced ECG Educator

Had my first session with Ian and i was very satisfied with his mentoring skills. There’s a lot of tutors out there that will attempt to teach you ECG interpretation but don’t have the proper skills to explain. I highly recommend Ian when looking someone to teach you the basics and even the most advanced ECG interpretations.
