Hello and welcome to my tutoring profile!

My name is Liz and I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Medical from Messiah College in Grantham, PA. During my time in college, I tutored children of all ages at a Harrisburg outreach program. I have several years experience working with special needs children, which I greatly enjoyed. In addition to work and school experiences, I have a large family and have assisted many younger cousins with tutoring in many subjects throughout their elementary school, middle school, high school, and college careers.

I am able to tutor students in science (including elementary science, biology, genetics, physics, and Chemistry), Language Arts (including elementary English, reading, vocabulary and writing), computer skills (including Microsoft Office programs), and study skills (including time management, test preparation, and note taking)

I have found that I am a hands-on learner, however I believe that everyone learns differently and I vary methods depending on the specific needs, subject, and learning style of the student. My approach to tutoring involves a lot of interaction between student and tutor and a starting focus of helping the student achieve a concrete understanding of the basic principles in the subject matter.

I love working with kids, and equally love helping them achieve their goals of doing well in school.
