I am interested in the public health field specifically in disease prevention. I want to get involved in the infectious disease aspect of Epidemiology once I graduated from IUPUI. In my undergraduate career at Purdue University I focused on exercise science/pre-medicine courses. I interned at the Indiana State Department of Health during my graduate career. My Summer internship was working for the IU-SERT Program investigating Salmonellosis cases. In the Fall I worked as a Surveillance Epidemiologist Intern assisting with daily syndromic surveillance of hospital data through ESSENCE. I worked at Eskenazi Hospital as an Infection Prevention and Control Intern. I am currently the STD Epidemiologist for the Marion County Public Health Department.
I have a wealth of knowledge in the field of Epidemiology through my current role as a STD Epidemiologist to my coursework through Master's and Doctorate programs. I am also currently an adjunct professor in the school of public health at IUPUI teaching an undergraduate Epidemiology course on STDs.
I am fervent about this field and am willing to assist others embarking on the ever-changing field of Epidemiology.
