Compassionate, fun, amazing skills.

Anna tutors our adult daughter. Born in Russia and speaking only Russian until age 4, our daughter also lives with the challenges of an early brain injury. As we are not Russian speakers, she lost her Russian over time. Now she is eager to regain some of that ability, but we were reluctant to seek out a tutor, fearing that the attempt might result in frustration for the tutor and disappointment for our daughter. And then we met Anna, who has been amazing and a real gift for our daughter. Patient and fun and so creative in her approach to connecting with her pupil, Anna reaches her in a way we never expected. Now each week our daughter eagerly recounts what she and Anna have done during her lesson and what she has learned. The success she feels is priceless, and we are very grateful to Anna.

Anna is a warm and very encouraging teacher. She has a good sense of humor. She breaks words down into syllables and points out the root of a word. This helps build my vocabulary. She conducts our lessons, primarily in Russian.

Anna is a native speaker, which is so important when learning another language. Every lesson is different, which is amazing because it never gets boring. She uses a nice variety of interesting techniques and tools, including worksheets, pictures, video and audio clips. She even records her own audio clips catered to the previous lesson! In short, she makes learning Russian fun. Would recommend her to anyone serious about learning Russian.

Super Engaging!

I absolutely love Anna's teaching style. Although I've never learned Russian before, she makes it seem very simple and fun. We have a great time playing little games and I find that I really can remember the language better. Anna is also very accommodating when it comes to location, timing, etc. She also assigns a kind of listening comprehension homework which I very much enjoy. I couldn't possibly think of a better tutor to have for Russian!

Anna explained grammar and how Russian is spoken so much better than my textbooks. By helping me to understand, I learned much more. She had lots of learning aides that made learning fun. Like another reviewer said, she is very patient, but she is also very warm and understanding, and seemed genuinely interested in my progress.
