I am a 20-year high school English teacher. I earned my undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in journalism. Before teaching, I worked as a journalist for a decade. I still write daily. As a teacher, I work to help my students experience the joy of writing, the power of telling a story or capturing a moment of truth using words. I love when my students let go and find that beautiful inner voice and let that guide their writing. I can help you do the same with your college essay or any writing assignment.

I teach high school seniors the ins-and-outs of college essay writing each fall. I am intimately familiar with the Common App process and prompts and have coached hundreds of students. My college essay philosophy is simple: Choose the right topic and the rest is simple.
