Writer and editor with 10 years of experience working with middle schoolers, high schoolers, undergraduate, and graduate students. With a degree in creative writing, several years of experience working in education and behavioral therapy, and now serving as co-owner of an academic copy editing business, I have a wide scope of experience and can adapt to help with any writing challenges you may be facing. In addition to writing tutoring, editing, and proofreading, I also teach study skills and have a strong background in literature analysis for students seeking help in either of these areas.

My background in English began my senior year of high school, when I completed Advanced Preparatory Literature and passed the AP exam with high marks. In the years following, I double majored in creative writing and secondary education at Northern Vermont University, completing all the coursework for both majors, including several literature courses, writing workshops, editing and publishing courses, child development courses, and secondary education courses. In 2015, I passed the English Language Arts Praxis 2 with near perfect marks. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2016, and went on to teach gifted children at a private school in Santa Barbara. In 2018, I joined the team at Editide Editing and Graphic Design, where I edit and format dissertations, theses, articles, books, and resumes for clients around the world. I am trained in APA style, and have some experience with MLA and AMA as well.

As a tutor, I can also help students build study skills. I know writing can be overwhelming, and I approach each session with a judgement-free attitude to build a foundation for a positive relationship. Once I build a positive relationship with my tutoring clients, I work with them 1:1 to identify which study skills would be beneficial. My approach is supported by my years in education as well as my year and a half working as a behavioral therapist, particularly with children that have academic challenges.
