I tutor students between the ages of 3 and adult. My specialty subject is Mathematics. I tutor students below grade-level, on grade-level, and as enrichment. My instruction is very systematic. I teach each concept step-by-step and help the student relate the concept to things that they may experience in everyday life, school, or work. I will teach and reteach, when necessary, to ensure mastery.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

This course is the foundation for high school mathematics courses. It is the bridge from the concrete to the abstract study of mathematics. Topics include simplifying expressions, evaluating and solving equations and inequalities, and graphing linear and quadratic functions and relations. Real world applications are presented within the course content and a function's approach is emphasized.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

This course extends the topics first seen in Algebra I and provides advanced skills in algebraic operations. Additionally, linear and quadratic functions and relations, conic sections, exponential and logarithmic functions, graphing, and sequences and series will be explored. Designed for the main stream and honor/AP student.
Geometry,

Geometry

This course develops a structured mathematical system employing both deductive and inductive reasoning. It includes plane, spatial, coordinate, and transformational geometry. Algebraic methods are used to solve problems involving geometric principles. For regular and honors/AP.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

Instruction is designed to reinforce mathematical skills taught in the previous courses with additional advanced computation including an emphasis on Algebraic concepts. Students study fractions, decimals, percents, positive and negative integers and rational numbers. Student works toward becoming more proficient in using ratios, proportions and solving algebraic equations. Students will develop and expand problem solving skills (creatively and analytically) in order to solve word problems. Students continue to practice using math skills to solve word problems and to think creatively and analytically. Students can use manipulatives and calculators. Successful completion prepares students for success in Algebra 1.
Precalculus

Precalculus

This course extends and integrates concepts from algebra and geometry. It includes a study of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, inverse and second degree relations and their graphs. Other topics include complex numbers, polar coordinates, vectors, sequences and series.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Sessions are designed to build a strong foundation in basic trigonometry. These trigonometry topics are taught in high school. Students would have to be proficient in basic trigonometry in order to take AP trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. Basic trigonometry topics Radians, arc, trig functions, trig ratios, trig identities, trig tables, trig equations, double angles, half angles, other trig formulas, sin/cos/tan and their inverses, graphing periodic functions and their translations.
