About Sema

Bio

I am a seasoned High School Math Teacher with a strong educational background. I possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, a Master of Science in Mathematics, and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. I hold a Georgia teaching certificate and have earned a gifted endorsement, demonstrating my expertise in teaching gifted students. In the academic year 2022-2023, I expanded my qualifications by acquiring a STEM endorsement.

Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of instructing a diverse range of students, from upper elementary to high school, in various mathematics courses. My teaching portfolio includes challenging subjects such as AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, Calculus II, Multi-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics and Contest Math for AMC 8, 10, 12 exams. My dedication to fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts has consistently resulted in exceptional student outcomes.

Ms. Duzyol received many awards during her teaching career starting 2004. One of the recent awards she has received is the University of Chicago's Outstanding Educator Award in 2020 and the other one is the Star Teacher Award in 2022 by Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club. She has received the Star Teacher Award for 4 years in a row including year 2022.

Helpful and knowledgeable teacher!

This session was extremely helpful and informative for me! In our tutoring session, we discussed linear transformations, onto and one-to-one transformations, inverse matrices and identity matrices in order to provide an in-depth understanding of chapter 1 and the introduction to chapter 2. In particular, utilizing an interactive share screen format allowed me to fully understand the different problems at hand. Her knowledge on the subject allowed me to truly understand the answers to the problems I was having difficulty in. I am looking forward to our next session!
