I feel very confident in my ability to help students as a math tutor because my experience as a high school teacher has taught me how to differentiate my teaching style to accommodate to different learning styles.

As a high school teacher, I taught the following classes over the years: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus / Trigonometry, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. In addition to these subjects, I tutor SAT Math, ACT Math, and GRE Math. I also used to teach at a special education school for 3 years, so I have significant experience working with students with learning disabilities.

Credentials:
-Perfect 800 Math SAT score.
-Perfect 800 Math GRE score (old scoring scale was 200 to 800). I would be happy to verify my SAT and GRE scores. Just ask, and I can email a copy of my scores.
-I didn't take the ACT in high school, but I did recently take an ACT practice test, and received a perfect score on the Math section.
-8 years experience teaching all levels of high school math.
-As a high school AP Calculus teacher, the percentage of my students that scored a 5 on the AP test was 21% higher than the national average (for teachers), and the percentage of my students that passed the AP test (with a score of 3 or better) was 24% higher than the national average.

Honors pre calculus

I have tried multiple tutors for Honors pre calculus and Dan has helped me achieve my goals more than any other tutors I’ve tried for over a year. His teaching style is thorough and he make sure I understand the content before moving on to the next problem. Amazing teacher

Great at technology and explaining. So smart

Dan is an incredible teacher. He is so smart, so fast, and is great at technology. This is very helpful because he can draw out diagrams, screenshot problems and write on them, and his camera is always working and he's always on time. He has helped me so much in calculus AB.

Very Helpful

Dan has been tutoring my son in math for the SAT. My son takes a practice test each week and Dan reviews and explains the questions which were answered incorrectly. Dan is an excellent tutor and is very patient. My son tells me he is getting a lot out of the lessons. I compare this to a private local SAT tutor on whom I spent a small fortune. She had no patience whatsoever, and was not a good teacher. I only wish I had started with Dan to begin with, as the difference is night and day. I highly recommend Dan.

Allison, 8 lessons with Dan

Highly recommended

We were nervous about finding a tutor that would just be able to explain the reasoning and not just "do the math.". However, Dan was great with trying to prompt my son instead of just solving the problems. Quick communication to set up the lesson and responsive to needs within the lesson itself.

We worked on Algebra two which isn’t an exciting topic by Dan explain everything and made it understandable. I now better understand my homework and would call Dan to help me again. He was helpful.
