I am a retired English professor with 29 years' experience. My experience includes writing center tutoring as well as teaching freshman and sophomore composition, Introduction to Poetry, Introduction to Fiction, American literature, African American literature, and First Year Seminar (a writing and study skills course for college freshmen). Some of my most rewarding teaching was done in one-on-one conferences with students, in which I was able to work individually with them on all stages of the writing process: pre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing.

I enjoyed positive relationships with my students, many of whom I remain in touch with on Facebook and email. I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience as a tutor in writing, grammar, study skills, and literature.
