With over 10 years experience in the education field, I also a masters in teaching from University of Southern California and a bachelors in economics and finance from University of Arkansas. Additionally, I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

I have worked at schools in both USA and abroad, including Los Angeles Unified School District. I am also a U. S. Army veteran and have taught land navigation courses to soldiers and civilians alike. Furthermore, I work well with both high school and college students and have successfully helped many students through Econ 351 at USC.

My passion for education extends beyond the classroom and tutoring sessions as I am always trying to learn more for myself and share knowledge with others. I encourage students to think freely and critically rather than just pure memorization. Perhaps my favorite aspect in this field is empowering students with proper academic tools so they can continuously better themselves and the world.

Statistics

Statistics

Statistics is very useful in today's business world and I am quite experienced working with this subject. I took AP statistics in high school, statistics and econometrics in college, and have done 4+ years of sales forecasting at work. Students who successfully learn and use the knowledge of statistics may get the feeling that they are a legitimate fortune teller (based off of real data, of course).

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is a subject that I have tutored a lot. It is a step up from basic arithmetic and some students enjoy having extra help in the subject to help them learn better. Algebra 1 is important as it is the gateway to more advance math courses.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 expands on algebra 1 and it usually involves learning logs, exponentials, imaginary numbers, etc. Algebra 2 is very important as a lot of it are used in trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. Some students may feel the jump between Algebra 1 and 2 is quite large and I will help the student review the material already covered and show them how it relates to the new material in algebra 2.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus is the study of rates of change and may seem quite confusing. In high school, most calculus courses offered are AP level and can be a significant jump from previous math courses. I have taken multiple calculus classes and have a good understanding of the subject. Most importantly, my patience and teaching skills allows the student to get the most out of tutoring.
Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry is a fun subject as it deals with different shapes. This is a subject that requires some knowledge of algebra. I am well versed in geometry and I can help explain the properties of circles, triangles, other shapes, and of course proofs.

Patient with a great understanding of Statistics

Ovid helped me to better understand in one day what my teacher had been unable to do in over a month of class. Ovid explained everything clearly in easy to digest and comprehendible language.

Dayton, 2 lessons with Ovid

Patient and knowledgeable!

Helped my son with Integrated math 2 class for an up coming test. I was looking for someone to tutor him the last minute, called few people and he was the first available to respond right away.He took time to really explained everything that my son was having hard time and went over every single lessons that he's having problems. We will definitely hire him again for a regular tutoring schedule to improve my son's grade in school.

Great tutor!

My grandson enjoys his sessions with Ovid, and comes out of every session with a very positive, confident attitude. Ovid is very responsive and thorough, and makes good use of the time. I appreciate that he has really tried to accommodate the hours we've requested.

Great tutor.

Ovid was very helpful in explaining concepts covered in my university-level microeconomics class. His schedule was flexible and I was able to get last-minute help whenever I needed. He is very patient and comes prepared to discuss the lesson topics on short notice. A great tutor all around!

Outstanding Tutor! Very Patient And Explains Very Clearly!

Ovid is outstanding! He is very patient and explains the math problems very clearly. I hired him to tutor my son who is in 9th grade Algebra 2 Honors who unfortunately has a bad teacher. Ovid has tutored him twice and my son is feeling more confident. We will continue to work with Ovid until our son brings up his grade.
