I have been a teacher and coach for the last six years at Gayville-Volin School. I primarily work with high school students, but I am also certified to teach junior high. I enjoy watching children grow, whether that be in athletics or in the classroom. For the past two years, my junior class students Smarter Balance scores have been off the charts. More importantly, I have allowed high school students to rediscover their love of reading through my flexible curriculum. Many high school seniors elect to take college-level courses, instead of my senior English, because they feel as though they are ready to get started with college classes.
I have also coached basketball for the past five years while at Gayville-Volin. Coaching has always been rewarding for me. I spent the first four years as the boys assistant coach. This past year, I was the head girls' varsity coach. We have a young team that is learning to play together and improve every day. I believe I have knack for teaching that most don't. Many people have the knowledge to teach and coach, but few have the tools to communicate with the youth that allows them to understand. I am a great communicator with young people.

I graduated with an English Education major (secondary) from the University of South Dakota. I have spent the last six years teaching English to high school students at Gayville-Volin School.

I have a Master's Degree from Southwest Minnesota State University in Coaching. I have spent the last five years coaching both male and female programs at Gayville-Volin School.

I make learning fun, whether it be literature, writing, grammar, or basketball. I have a great sense of humor, and I am great at communicating the message/material to you.
